GLOBAL MINISTRIES
We believe that Missions is at the heart of the church, and Christian Life.  In fact, a church without a mission isn't a church at all.  The question for every Christian is not whether missions is for me, but "Where is my place in missions?"

As a church, we have to understand that we are tied together in a single garment of human destiny to our brothers and sisters around the world.  We know that when God's people suffer in Africa, their suffering should touch our spirit in America.

We are committed to the vision of a ministry that reaches around the corner from our church, but also a ministry that reaches around the world.

We have found our place in mission.  We are partners with the Lott Carey Foreign Mission Convention as we joining hands to provide Education, Healthcare, Ministry and Hunger Relief around the world

HOME MISSIONS
Someone has said that "charity begins at home".  Not only are we committed to missions in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and South America but we are committed to helping our brother and sister at home.  We are keenly aware that life very often leaves people in difficult situations and when their backs are up against the wall, they look to the church for help

As God's servants, we want to extend God's love to people in tangible ways when necessary.  To fulfill our service to God and our commitment to people, we have developed the following ministries

1)  Mount Olive Benevolence Ministry.  This ministry is under the leadership of the deacons of our church.  Through this ministry, hundreds of people are helped when an emergency has caused them to need assistance in their rent, utilities, food, etc.  This fund is funded entirely by the members of Mount Olive and is a safety net for many people.  Assistance is given to those in need without regard to race or religious affiliation.  Persons desiring assistance should call: 201-489-7757.

2)  Home Missions Ministry.  This ministry focuses primarily upon persons who are long term disabled, terminally ill, and senior citizens who are home bound.  This ministry serves to extend the love of Mount Olive beyond our walls by providing frequent contact with the above mentioned persons through phone calls, card, visits, and occasional monetary gifts.  In addition to the above, this ministry provides food baskets for hundreds of people within the community at Thanksgiving.

Persons interested in making a tangible difference in the lives of disabled, lonely and poor, should consider joining this ministry

THE DEACON BOARD - Is a group of men ordained by the Church Family to assist the Pastor in the ongoing ministry of the Church. As such, they manage the Benevolence Fund. These funds are used to help those in need in our church and in the Hackensack Community.

THE DEACONESS BOARD-Is a group of women elected by the Church to serve as examples to the women of the Church. This group of women prepares Communion for the first Sunday and helps all females to prepare for Baptism. In addition to the above, these ladies work on assigned projects for the Church Family.
