The Christian life involves more than believing - It also includes belonging. We grow in Christ by being in relationship to other Christians. Romans 12:10 says "Be devoted to one another in brotherly love." In too many organizations, membership simply means that your name is on a roster somewhere, or that you pay membership dues. Membership in the Christian church means far more than that. Membership in a church means that you are to the Church what a vital organ is to the body. The body does not function up to capacity without each vital organ. Likewise, if membership in the Church is not active, ultimately the Church will shrivel up and die.

We want you to be an active part of Mount Olive Baptist Church. We want you to grow toward Christian maturity. In order for that to happen, we know that it is our responsibility to offer a variety of classes and opportunities for you to grow. Too many people assume that once a person has received Christ, that their Christian journey is over. In fact, their journey is just beginning. At Mount Olive we will do our best to help you to grow toward Christian maturity.

 

• It identifies a person as a genuine believer (Eph.2:19; Rom.12:25)
• It provides a spiritual family to support and encourage them in their walk with Christ (Gal.6:1-2;Heb.10:24-25)
• It gives them a place to discover and use their gifts in ministry (I Cor12:4-27)
• It places them under the spiritual protection of Godly leaders (Heb.13:17; Acts 20:28-29)
• It gives them the accountability they need to Grow (Eph.5:21)

• Worship - worship helps you focus on God. It prepares you spiritually and emotionally for the week ahead.
• Fellowship - fellowship helps you face life's problems by providing the support and encouragement of other Christians.
• Discipleship - discipleship helps you fortify your faith by learning truth of God's word and applying principles to your lifestyle.
• Ministry - ministry helps you find and develop your talents and use them in serving others.
• Evangelism - evangelism helps you fulfill your mission of reaching your friends and family for Christ.
