YOUTH FELLOWSHIP
A
group of children between the ages of 12 & 18 that meets the 2nd & 4th Sunday to
plan youth events and discuss issues concerning their generation. During these
meetings they are taught through creative methods how to deal with the trials of
peer pressure and other teen issues using the scriptures.
SUMMER YOUTH EMPLOYMENT
Mt. Olive has endeavored to help the children of our community gain employment for six weeks over the
summer. Each church puts up $25,000 towards the salaries of our employees. The
Directors are responsible for finding local African American Business owners
that will hire a child at minimum wage. The business is responsible for half the
salary and the Church for the other half. Throughout this program we also
provide each student with interview training, application procedures, and many
other workshops that teach them vital information needed in the corporate world.
SUMMER ENRICHMENT
This summer program runs eight weeks starting the first Monday following the 4th
of July from 8am to 6pm. We provide our members and the community with a safe
place to leave their children during the summer school break. Children are
offered the excitement of any other modern day camp and the benefit of academic
classes to give them a head start on the school year. For less than $150 a week we
supply breakfast, lunch, an afternoon snack and state licensed teachers.
